Pars fans have long since given up the idea of watching their side win in Gorgie. The last time Dunfermline left Tynecastle with full points was 23 matches ago more than 21 years back when George O`Boyle and Ross Jack were on target as the Athletic triumphed 2-0 in February 1990.

The Pars two Premier League away wins were a bit like the proverbial buses, not just one but two came along during season 1989/90. Ross Jack and Paul Smith were the scorers when Dunfermline won 2-1 in October 1989.  Sadly since then it has been very one sided.

Dunfermline have recorded just one win in the last twelve games between the teams, with two draws, and nine defeats.

The Pars dropped to 12th place as a consequence of their inactivity at the weekend.  Hearts are in fifth but there`s only eight points between the teams.

Hearts won the first meeting at East End Park by two goals to nil but they have taken just four points from the 21 they have contested since then.  Last Saturday they had a J?nsson penalty saved in 87th minute at Celtic Park.  Had it been converted that would have earned them a draw.
