Pars in better shape to face Tangerines

Pars skipper Callum Morris is hoping that his current club can break its run of nine games without a win against his old club on Saturday.
Callum spent two seasons at the Tannadice club after leaving Dunfermline at the end of season 2013-2014. While there he made 45 appearances and scored three goals, one inevitably against Dunfermline in the League Cup tie at Tannadice in September 2015.
On his return to Dunfermline in January this year, Callum Morris` first league match was in the 1-1 draw against Dundee United at East End Park. That was the closest the Pars came to a win in any of the six meetings between the teams last season.
Callum feels that these were tight games but he is confident that Dunfermline are in better shape this season. The 27 year old said:-
"We have consolidated the squad and on a roll at the minute. It is more about concentrating on what we are doing. We just need to do much of the same as we have been doing in every home game. It will be tough but if we play to the best of our ability we should be okay."
Like all his team mates Callum relishes the big crowd and to a man, all looking forward to it:-
"The league table doesn`t lie, they are only two points behind us so they can`t be doing that badly. These are the games that you want to play in - a top of the table clash between two big clubs. Lots of fans here, two strong squads - it will be an exciting game."
Callum`s confidence was boosted by the win at Brechin last weekend:-
"It was good to get goals from different goalscorers again and a clean sheet. It is a tough place to go and I think there will be a few teams drop points there. It was about going there and being professional, that is what we did and we are happy with that.
"It was a decent performance, we just did what we had to do and couldn`t really grumble about it."
Brechin may be bottom of the Championship table but they showed that they will focus on their home games, they did start well and with a little more luck could have taken the lead in the second minute. Callum continued:-
"They are going to have to concentrate on their home form because that is their best chance of getting points. It will tough for them to go away to places like Tannadice or St Mirren and pick up points.
"We did our jobs properly, looked after the game, looked after the ball well. We could have scored a few more but it has been like that all season. While we scored goals, we could always have scored more because we are creating a lot of chances."
Callum was very pleased to see fellow defender Ryan Williamson selected for the Scotland Under 21 squad. The Pars captain noted that Ryan had caught the eye of a lot of those who were at Glebe Park on Saturday.
"He has been terrific and he set up a couple of goals on Saturday. Not many people know how to contain him when he goes forward. With those `seventeen foot` legs he just sets off down the line and not many can stop him.
"He has matured as a player. His reading of the game and knowing where to be at the right time. His positional play has come on leaps and bounds since the first time I was here. I have really enjoyed playing alongside him because he has grown into a really good player.
"All he will do now is improve. This is just a step along the way, he is doing very well at the minute but the sky is the limit for him. If he keeps on improving you never know where he could go.
"He needs to keep his head down and keep going the way it`s going. It is great for Ryan to be picked and given the honour to go and play for his country.
"He will maybe be playing against England and lads who are playing Premier League football. That is amazing and there is no better way to learn. It is well deserved and he will no doubt go down there on a great stage for him to do that on and show people what he can do.
"It is good to see especially at a club like Dunfermline that we have players capable of attracting international attention."
