Jim McIntyre would take the same performance as his team produced the last time Inverness came to East End Park but a happier ending.  On the opening day of the season a 92nd minute goal from Lee Cox meant that Terry Butcher's side went back up the A9 with three points despite the fact the Pars had played the better football.  The Inverness gaffer described his team's success as "robbery" and acknowledged that Dunfermline had battered Inverness for periods of the match.  Macca remembers it well:-

"We played really well that day but it was one of those when it wasn't meant to be your day.  We took a succour punch in the last minute but we are looking forward to the game.  We have been scoring plenty at home so we just need to keep the backdoor shut. It will be a hard game; Inverness are well organised, they are a strong side with Premierleague players. We are the home team and we have given a good account of ourselves in the last few home games."

Inverness' winning goal in August

Everyone wants to get one back on Inverness for what happened in August but the Pars gaffer still feels that there have been other points this season that rank more disappointing:-

"I look at games like Ayr United away and Partick away, they are more disappointing, especially at Partick and at Ayr United in the second half, because if the boys play really well and are unfortunate not to take our chances then there a lot more positives to take out of those games.  Whereas when you have not played well at all, like in the Partick game when we have not performed, that is harder to take.  Sometimes it is hard to know where a performance like that comes from. If you have been playing well before it you don't see it coming and it is more of a kick in the teeth."

Jim McIntyre felt that last Saturday's showing was excellent in terms of entertainment but possibly a bit too open and end to end for both managers.

"It was a great advert for the First Division but you are always looking at how you can do better.  I am sure that Derek Adams will be saying the same at Ross County this week. I've been showing the boys the video, trying to improve and defend better as a team, not just the back four.

"We created numerous chances last week and Andy Kirk was really unfortunate.  He scored with two brilliant finishes, he had two cleared off the line and also one that the keeper saved with his face. He might have scored on another day, he was excellent and back to his predator self."

For Saturday Macca will be without Graham Bayne who is out with a foot injury. Keeper Greg Fleming is fit to return to the bench but in the absence of the injured Chris Smith, 20 year old Greg Paterson is expected to start his first ever league game. Chris Higgins, Calum Woods, Joe Cardle and Graeme Holmes are all fit and challenging for a starting place.

The Manager confirmed that former Hibs striker Sam Morrow has been given training facilities at Dunfermline.
