"I'd take one or two more ordinary ones I have to say but it still counts as one. It doesn't matter if it is from two yards or twenty yards, it is lovely to see it hit the net.

Graham Bayne was the hero with a sensational winning goal at New Broomfield in the Fifth Round Homecoming Scotland Scottish Cup tie. His Manager said before him that Graham just doesn't score ordinary goals but the striker's response was

"I'd take one or two more ordinary ones I have to say but it still counts as one. It doesn't matter if it is from two yards or twenty yards, it is lovely to see it hit the net.

"I think Graeme Holmes goal eclipses mine but it is two goals for us in a game. We are just delighted to be in the next round.

Graeme Holmes celebrates his first goal for DA

"The pitch was quite heavy down the centre, a little bit sandy but again the boys had to dig in after a really hard game at Partick Thistle on a really soft pitch at the weekend. Two games in three days but I thought they showed fantastic character to get the result."

The Pars goalscorer who also netted against Clyde in the previous round, had some sympathy for East Fife who had their goalkeeper sent off in the opening minutes and went on to lose 5-0 at Pittodrie:-

"It was a shame for that to happen to them, they would have fancied giving Aberdeen a bit of a run for their money. Yes, Aberdeen next and Jimmy Calderwood coming back to Dunfermline, I'm sure there will be a few interested parties in that. They are doing really well this season, it will be a difficult game for us but we are at home. We will have a good crowd, we just need to take it from there and see how we get on.

"We have to go into the game confident of course but we know that they are in the league above us and will be favourites on their current form. It will not stop us having a go at them. St Mirren have come to East End Park already this season and we put them out the CIS Cup. We have beaten teams in the league above us already so we will give it our best shout.

"I have said it before that there is not too much of a gulf between the majority of teams in the First Division and teams in the bottom six of the Premierleague. You will get tight games, there is quality in both sides."

Graham recognised how important it was for the club to progress to the next round of the Cup:-

"In the current financial climate in any walk of life not just football, people know how much of a struggle it is just now so cash from a cup run will boost the revenue side of things and bode well for the Club."

The fans played their part according to Graham:-

"We had the game called off on the Saturday the last time we played at Airdrie and it was a Tuesday night. We beat them 3-1 but we had a fantastic support through then and it was very similar tonight. They were very vocal, very noisy and got right behind the boys. All credit to them for the part they played to get us through to the next round. They can look forward to a big team coming to our home venue."
